The portrait is of Kawali, a friend of mine, and her son Cosmo.The result is part of an ongoing series re-interpreting the goddesses of ancient mythology in order to depict women with powerful personality and who are working as healers. I was inspired by the work of the Italian baroque painter Artemisia Gentileschi.
